HINGHAM SHIPYARD’S PROUD HISTORY

In June 1942, the first of 227 warships went down the ways of the Hingham Shipyard to support America’s war effort at sea. In the three years that followed, 15,000 workers – including 2,000 women – made the Hingham Shipyard not only one of America’s largest but also one of its most efficient, launching six ships a month and building one in just 23 days.

HINGHAM

The quintessential New England seaside town, Hingham was settled by English colonists in 1633 and incorporated in 1635. Best known for its Colonial history and oceanfront location, Hingham is rich in parks, shops, historic homes and a wonderful community spirit.

THE HINGHAM FERRY

One of Brio’s most delightful benefits is its next-door access to the Hingham Ferry. Why drive to Boston or the airport when you can take a relaxing 35 to 40-minute boat ride? Whether you commute daily or are headed into town for dinner and a show, the Hingham ferry is the way to go.
